We’re excited to share wonderful news that deepens our ability to serve families during life’s most sacred transitions. Peter Abraham, BSN, RN, has officially become a Certified End-of-Life Doula Specialist through the International Doula Life Movement (IDLM).
A Journey of Learning and Growth
From April 23, 2025, to July 16, 2025, Peter completed an intensive training program combining comprehensive education and practical business skills. The program included:
- 32 modules of end-of-life doula training covering everything from companionship and emotional support to vigil planning and grief care
- 7 modules of business training focusing on ethical practice, client relationships, and sustainable service delivery
- A comprehensive final examination, where Peter achieved a perfect score of 100% on his first attempt
What This Means for You
The International Doula Life Movement is recognized as a leading organization in end-of-life doula education. This certification enhances our existing services by adding the specialized skills of a trained end-of-life doula to our hospice nursing expertise.
End-of-life doulas provide non-medical, holistic support to individuals and families during life’s final transitions. They offer emotional, spiritual, informational, and physical support that complements traditional medical care. This additional layer of support has been shown to increase satisfaction, reduce anxiety, and help families feel more confident during difficult times.
The Perfect Partnership
As both a hospice and palliative care nurse AND a certified end-of-life doula, Peter brings together medical expertise with the specialized companionship skills that doulas provide. This unique combination means families receive:
- Clinical knowledge from years of hospice nursing experience
- Compassionate presence through trained doula support techniques
- Holistic care that addresses medical, emotional, and spiritual needs
- Continuous support that bridges medical visits and family caregiving
Our Commitment Continues
This certification represents our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality support during life’s most challenging moments. We believe that combining professional nursing expertise with certified doula training creates an even stronger foundation for helping families navigate end-of-life transitions with peace and dignity.
The training emphasized that every person deserves to define their own “good death,” and we’re honored to support families in achieving that vision, whatever it looks like for them.
Moving Forward Together
Whether you’re facing a recent diagnosis, preparing for future transitions, or supporting a loved one through their final journey, know that our enhanced training means we’re even better equipped to walk alongside you with compassion, expertise, and unwavering support.
